A group of Girl Scouts from Federal Way have helped make hospital stays a little more pleasant for area children. The group collected more than 1500 videos to help raise the spirits of hospitalized kids.

The video campaign was inspired by fellow Girl Scout Megan Johnson who knows what it’s like to be bored while lying in a hospital bed. The eleven-year old has been hospitalized nineteen times for surgeries related to a birth defect called hemifacial dysplasia.

Troop 421 eagerly took on the challenge to collect videos appropriate for children their age (with no higher than a PG-13 rating) and distributed them to local hospitals. These enterprising young women have certainly found a cure for boredom and a way to give back to the community at the same time.
